We already know that Huawei will be skipping the launch of its next-gen P series flagships at this year’s MWC, and will launch them at a dedicated event in March instead. Now, the company has sent out invites for its press event for the MWC 2018, which will take place on February 25th in Barcelona. The brand’s invite suggests that it will unveil a couple of new MateBook series laptops at the event. In addition, the rumour mill indicates that the vendor could launch new MediaPad tablets and a Watch 3 smartwatch at the event as well.

Huawei’s MWC 2018 event invite reads “Experience New Horizons”, which indicates that the company’s new notebook (s) may sport a large display with slimmer bezels in a small form factor. The popular tipster Roland Quandt suggests that the brand’s new laptop could be called the Huawei MateBook X, and may come with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor and/or LTE modem integrated. Unfortunately, no other details about the new MateBook laptop are available at the moment.
Huawei is also expected to launch the MediaPad M5 Android tablet at this year’s MWC. The slate is rumoured to flaunt an 8.4-inch display bearing a quad-HD resolution. The device could be powered by the brand’s in-house Kirin 960 processor, coupled with 4GB of RAM. The tablet is rumoured to boot Android 8.0 Oreo out of the box. The device may also come with support for 4G LTE connectivity.
The reports also suggest that Huawei will unveil its next-gen smartwatch, the Watch 3, at the MWC 2018 event. The device will come as a successor to the Huawei Watch 2. The specifications and pricing details of the new Huawei Watch are not available at the moment. Some reports also suggest that the vendor could unveil a couple of entry-level to mid-range smartphones at the event as well. However, none of this has been officially confirmed yet, so we advise you to take the report with a pinch of salt for now.
