This Apple iPhone model may not launch

This Apple iPhone model may not launch in 2018
Apple's successor to its iPhone SE has been long rumoured. Reports suggested it to arrive last year but that never happened. It looks like the iPhone SE fans may be further disappointed based on what KGI Securities analyst, Ming-Chi Kuo has to say. According to his latest investor note obtained by Macrumours, Apple may not bring the 'iPhone SE 2' this year as well.

Kuo says that that the second generation iPhone SE won't be a thing this year as Apple already has three smartphones in the pipeline. These three are expected to arrive later this year and hold priority for the company as one of them is the second-gen iPhone X, while other two are also supposed to feature Face ID tech and more new features.

With these three products in the making, Kuo thinks that Apple may have used all its development resources, hardly sparing for a fourth iPhone (iPhone SE 2).

"The announcement of three new iPhone models in the same quarter in the second half of 2017 was the first time Apple made such a major endeavor, and we believe the delay of iPhone X, which had the most complicated design yet, shows that Apple doesn't have enough resources available for development," said Kuo.

"With three new models in the pipeline for the second half of 2018, we believe Apple may have used up its development resources. Also, we think the firm will do all it can to avoid repeating the mistake of a shipment delay for the three new models. As such, we believe Apple is unlikely to have enough spare resources to develop a new iPhone model for launch in 2Q18," he added.

It has been mentioned that even if Apple has an iPhone SE 2 in the roadmap, it may not sport features like Face ID, wireless charging or a full-screen design.

Kuo's prediction however, contradicts a report coming from a research firm TrendForce that claims Apple to launch and iPhone SE in 2018. Recent
