Samsung issuing update to fix Galaxy S8's crimson tint trouble

Samsung Galaxy S8

The Samsung Galaxy S8 has captured the imagination of tech lovers the world over thanks to its striking 'Infinity Display' and bezel less design. However, the smartphone is suffering from a rather strange issue.
Soon after the Galaxy S8's launch, some users in South Korea started noticing the fact that their Galaxy S8's display had an unnatural red tint. Initially, Samsung directed affected users towards the Display tab in Settings, where they could adjust the saturation, color range and sharpness of the screen via the Screen Mode menu.
After the number of complaints began to rise, Samsung offered to exchange affected units. Now however, Samsung is issuing an update that will allow users to adjust the color setting to their preferences. The company feels that the display themselves are not defective - they are just not tuned properly. Additionally, according to the Wall Street Journal, Samsung is issuing another update to users in South Korea to fix certain Wi-Fi issues.
Consumer Reports found that four out of eight Galaxy S8 units they had in their possession suffered from the red tint issue with varying degrees of severity. Samsung, in a statement to the website said - "Samsung has listened to feedback and has decided to release a software update as early as next week, which will provide customers with a further enhanced ability to adjust the color setting to their preference."
The 'red tint' issue comes hot on the heels of the Galaxy Note 7 fiasco, which damaged Samsung's image and reputation globally. All over the world, users started reporting instances of the Galaxy Note 7's battery exploding which led to widespread recalls and even a ban on using the device in flight. The way the company handled the problem with knee-jerk reactions and multiple recalls made the situation even worse.
The Samsung Galaxy S8 is thus a very important smartphone for the company. It is powered by Qualcomm's latest flagship processor - the Snapdragon 835 in the U.S, Japan and China and the 3GHz Exynos 8895 processor in other regions including India alongside 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage expandable via a microSD card (up to 256GB).
Additionally, the smartphone comes with a WQHD+ 5.8-inch 'Infinity Display', a 3,000mAh battery, IP68 dust and water resistance, Samsung Knox, Samsung Pay, 4G LTE support and earphones tuned by AKG.
On the imaging front, the Galaxy S8 comes with a 12MP 'Dual Pixel' camera at the rear with an aperture of f/1.7 and laser autofocus alongside an 8MP front facing camera with an aperture of f/1.7
