New LeEco unveils Le Pro 3 Elite in China for CNY 1,699

LeEco's fleeting dream run in the smartphone industry exposes the sad state of affairs in the company. However, it is stepping up efforts to resurrect the company's finances. After moving into a state of oblivion, it is back with a new phone called LeECo Le Pro 3 Elite.

The "Elite" in the name has no significance, as it is not an upgrade to its predecessor LeEco Le Pro 3. In fact, it is a downgrade. LeEco opted for a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 to power LeEco Le Pro 3 Elite. To put in perspective, LeEco Le Pro 3 comes with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 821. NFC feature is also pulled out from LeECo Le Pro 3 Elite. Bearing the above two changes, it comes with same specifications as LeEco Le Pro 3.

LeEco Le Pro 3 Elite is available for purchase on Lemall.com in China. It is priced at CNY 1699 or $245; whereas, LeEco Pro 3 is priced at CNY 1899 or $275. The rationale behind launching a downgraded variant is unknown. LeEco Pro 3 didn't hit the Indian shores, so it highly unlikely that LeEco Le Pro 3 Elite will be launched in India. However, Coolpad, a subsidiary of LeEco, is planning to launch a flagship named Coolpad Charger S1 in India.
