Xiaomi starts rolling out MIUI 8.2 for these handsets

Xiaomi has confirmed the official roll out of the MIUI 8.2 Global Stable ROM. The news surfaced on company’s MIUI page, with a complete list of supported devices and download links. So if you won a not-so-old Xiaomi handset, you have a reason to feel good. The OTA update will be available for supported devices starting today itself via the Updater app. 

The latest software update will be available on almost all the recent Xiaomi handsets. In case you cannot wait for the update to arrive, you can go to this linkand find an update link for your Xiaomi device. 

MIUI 8.2 is currently supported by Mi Max, Mi Max Prime, Mi 4i, Mi 3, Mi 4, Mi Note, Redmi 1S and Redmi Note 4G. Those who own any of these handsets can go hunt for the update in the Updater app. 

Other than the above mentioned smartphones, Xiaomi has also slated the MIUI 8.2 ROM for more models starting February 20. The second badge of smartphones include Redmi 2, Redmi 2 Prime, Redmi Note 3 Qualcomm, Redmi Note 3 Special Edition,, Redmi Note 2, Redmi Note Prime, Mi 2/2S, Mi 5, Mi 5s, Mi 5s Plus, Redmi 3/Prime, Redmi 3S/Prime and Redmi Note 4

Xiaomi has also listed the full Changelog on the source . The major highlights include improved layout for toggles in the Notification shade, full control over automated tasks and brand new system sounds and ringtones. Other than these, there are some additional features included in the lock screen, status bar, Homescreen and notification bar. The company has also included the necessary optimisations and fixes.
