Latest Gionee unveils A1 and the A1 Plus with dual-cameras on board

Chinese OEM Gionee is known for its camera centric smartphones. The company unveiled two new camera phones at the MWC 2017, known as the A1 and the A1 Plus. Much like the Huawei P10 and the P10 Plus, the A1 comes with dual-cameras (sans the Leica branding). However, they differ heavily in terms of onboard features, so the similarities end there.

Only the Gionee A1 Plus comes with dual-cameras though, as the standard A1 settles for a solitary 13MP sensor on the back. The hardware is quite different from one another, so it can be a little confusing for the market when two similarly named devices have so many differences in terms of camera hardware.

Gionee has mentioned that both devices will be available starting April 2017, so there’s quite some time left for its arrival. We’re assuming the Chinese markets will be the first to get it, followed closely by other Asian markets as well as Europe. The A1 has been priced at €349 (Rs 24,700), while the A1 Plus will cost €499 (Rs 35,200) when they reach the shelves.
