Android finally caught up to iOS recently by giving developers the ability to hand out app promo codes.
They’re an easy way to generate interest for an app launch, offer a copy to reviewers, or just do some charitable sharing.
To redeem an app on your Android phone or tablet, the first thing you should do is copy and paste the code from Twitter, email, or wherever else it was sent.
Then launch the Google Play Store, and open the slide-out menu. Next, scroll down to Redeem.
Then, paste in the promo code.
After you do this, your app will download to your phone or tablet. If you’d rather redeem the code on the desktop, just click the Redeem tab which is on the left side of the Play Store’s home screen. Then just type or paste your code.
As you can see, the process is simple: you’ll probably spend way more time chasing down promo codes. Keep an eye out on Twitter and Google+ as they’re the popular outlets for companies and developers to throw out such freebies.
