With the game’s release just a day away, Bethesda has released an official launch trailer for Dishonored 2. Unlike the live-action trailer last month that had big production values and tons of computer-generated imagery (CGI), the new trailer is all about gameplay footage – and builds on much of the same narrative that the earlier one provided, plus a lot of gore to go along with it.
Emily Kaldwin, the 10-year-old girl players, as Corvo Attano, rescued in the first game, has served as Empress for the last 15 years. Now, she’s usurped by an otherworldly power and must fight back to reclaim her throne. Dishonored 2 gives the option to play as either Kaldwin or Attano, using a variety of supernatural abilities along the way. And just like the original, the developer Arkane Studios has promised that players can finish the game without taking a life.
The previous Dishonored 2 trailer, released on October 24, was a much moodier interpretation of the game's story, set to the tune of singer-songwriter Ruelle's Take It All.
Like its predecessor, Dishonored 2 is also set in a different fictional city, called Karnaca, modelled after the architecture and fashion of southern European nations such as Greece, Italy, and Spain.
Dishonored 2 release date and price in India
Dishonored 2 will be available on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Windows PCs on Friday, November 11. It costs Rs. 3,999 on PS4 and Xbox One, Rs. 2,999 on PC, and $59.96 in the US across all platforms.
If you’ve pre-ordered the game, you can get in on the action a day early – which means you can stop reading this and start playing now. Although, if you buy it on disc for PS4 and XB1, you’ll still need to download a day one patch coming in at 9GB to be able to play the game.
