Lenovo Yoga Tab 3 Pro Review in First Impression
In India the Lenovo Yoga Tab 3 Pro was unveiled in last year September and in India it is just launched. It does not look like any other Android tablet. Along with the Dolby Atmos tuned speakers it has its own in-built projector and a unique stand that will give the ability to be used in the various positions.
LOOK and FEEL
The range of Lenovo’s Yoga tablet has always followed a consistent design language. The new Tab 3 Pro also sticks to this, with the cylindrical base and the stand that lets the tablet to be positioned upright or slightly angled when it is flat. There is a small flap under the stand hides microSD slot. Some global variants of the tablet will also support the cellular data connectivity and the variants have a SIM slot under the flap as well.
The features of the Yoga Tab 3 Pros are the integrated projector that is built into the stand. It has 10.1 inch screen and it weighs a hefty 665g. At the base it is bit heavier. On the left side it has the power button, volume rocker, Micro-USB port while on the left side it has a 3.5mm audio socket and the projector button.
On the front of the device it has the secondary camera and the Dolby Atmos-tuned JBL speaker array, it is also comprised of the four individual speakers. The screen is quite impressive one, with the resolution of 2560/1600 pixel resolution and the density of 229ppi. Its brightness and colours are also good and it is incredibly sharp at a typical viewing distances for tablets.
SPECIFICATIONS and SOFTWARE
The new Lenovo Yoga Tab 3 Pro is powered by the quad-core Intel Atom x5-Z8500 SoC and it is clocked at 2.24 GHz. Sit also has RAM of 2GB and internal storage of 32GB. With a total of massive 10,200 mAh it has two batteries: a larger 6200mAh unit and a smaller 4000mAh one. In India the version of the Yoga Tab 3 Pro launched at Rs. 39,990 YT-3X90F variant that do not have the cellular connectivity.
There is also a Wi-Fi a/b/g/n/ac, GPS connectivity and Bluetooth 4.0. Included in the package it has a USB cable and 24W charger.
PERFORMANCE
The Yoga Tab 3 Pro is one of the small of the modern tablets that is powered by the Intel Atom x5-Z8500 SoC. The performance is however is unreliable depending on the task that you are putting the tablet through. For example, Games stutter and lag. But rebooting the tablet solved the problem, but it cropped up again each time.
The battery life is decent well and tablet ran for a little over 13 hours in the video loop test. It has primary camera of 13-megapixel and front camera of 8-megapixel. The front camera is also decent enough for the video-conferencing and the occasional selfie.
However the keystone and brightness can be controlled. The images are naturally lacking in the sharpness and the projector resolution is quite low at the 480p.
VERDICT
The Lenovo Yoga Tab 3 Pro is the primarily a media consumption device. It has the big, excellent speakers, a built-in projector, sharp screen and decent audio even with the headphones. It has a decent battery life and looks good.

Poor performance is its greatest weakness. It simply does not live up to the expectations for Android devices, with lag throughout the system and the sluggish performance, particularly while playing the games.
