NEW DELHI: Chinese smartphone maker Xiaomi launched its budget smartphones Redmi Note 5 and Redmi Note 5 Pro in India last month. At the time of the launch the company announced that the devices will be available on Flipkart and Mi.com and it will soon make the devices available across retail stores as well. Now, the company has told GadgetsNow that the smartphones will be available on offline stores next week.
The company revealed that customers can pre-book the smartphones now and deliveries will begin from next week. However, customers have to pay more if they wish to purchase the smartphone from offline stores. The company launched the Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 with a starting price tag of Rs 9,999 and customers need to pay Rs 10,499 if they are buying it from a retail store. Similarly, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro which came with a starting price tag of Rs 13,999 will be selling at Rs 14,499. The increase of Rs 500 will apply on all the variants of smartphones.
For those unaware, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 comes with a bezel-less display with 18:9 aspect ratio. The smartphone sports a 5.99-inch full HD+ display with 1080x2160 pixel resolution and is protected with a layer of Corning Gorilla Glass. The device runs Android 7.0 Nougat operating system topped with MIUI 9 and is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 processor.
The handset offers 3GB/4GB of RAM and 32GB/64GB of internal storage and users can further expand the storage by adding a microSD card. In terms of camera the device sports a 12MP rear camera with LED flash and a 5MP selfie shooter with front flash. It comes with all the essential connectivity options and is backed by a 4000mAh battery.

The USP of the device is its camera. The smartphone sports 12MP and 5MP sensors at the rear end with LED flash. The 12MP primary camera has aperture f/2.2 and the secondary 5MP shooter has aperture f/2.0. The front of the device houses a 20MP selfie camera with LED flash. The handset houses a 4000mAh battery.
