NEW DELHI: Recently, Xiaomi started sending out media invites for the launch event on February 14. It is expected that the company might launch the Xiaomi Redmi 5 or the Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 smartphone.
Now, the Indian e-commerce major Flipkart has confirmed that the upcoming smartphone will be exclusively available on the platform. The company revealed the news via its official Twitter account. The e-tailer tweeted, "Thanks @gauravkapur. Looks like everyone is excited about @XiaomiIndia's all-rounder that's a 5/5. Tune in to Flipkart on 14th Feb, 12 noon to find out who it is. #WhoIsTheAllRounder http://bit.ly/2EM5I2t ."
The last year launched Redmi Note 4 smartphone was also exclusively available on Flipkart. The smartphone has been the best selling device of the company last year. However, with the coming of Redmi Note 5 the company is expected to phase out the Redmi Note 4.
Earlier, this week, a source code from the Xiaomi's event website revealed that the company will launch the Redmi Note 5. As per various rumours, it is expected that the Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 will sport a bezel-less display. If this is true, then the Redmi Note 5 will be the first smartphone of the company in this price bracket to sport a full screen display.
The smartphone is said to come with a 5.7-inch HD+ display with 18:9 aspect ratio. The smartphone is expected to be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 650 processor. The company is said to launch two variants of the smartphone with 2GB and 3GB of RAM just like its predecessor.
The smartphone is said to come with Android 7.0 Nougat operating system topped with the MIUI 9 OS of the company.
