WhatsApp for iPad support calling

WhatsApp for iPad could support voice calling
NEW DELHI: It has been quite a while since we have been hearing about WhatsApp building a dedicated app for iPad devices. For now, the instant messenger is only available on the web, Android and iOS (iPhone). There have been no details revealed by the company on the iPad version of WhatsApp but WABeta Info, a websites that keeps track of changes and hidden features in the instant messenger, may have given us a clue on one of the features.

According to the website, WhatsApp for iPad could support voice calls. The news comes from the website's Twitter post. "WHATSAPP FOR IPAD: WhatsApp for iPad will support voice calls! .. are voice calls coming for WhatsApp Web/Desktop too?," said the post. Although nothing else was mentioned, we may expect the particular version, if supporting voice calls, may also come with other features that have been introduced in the smartphones over the years.

This is, however, not the first time we are hearing about WhatsApp developing a version only for iPad users. The same website previously claimed that WhatsApp is already working on the particular app. It was mentioned that WhatsApp Desktop 0.2.6968 app had some references for an iPad version.

WhatsApp just a couple of days ago introduced group video calling feature. As expected, the new feature will let a user talk to as many as four other members at a time. The feature is currently available for beta testers on Android. We are not yet sure when WhatsApp plans to pan this feature out to non-beta users. However, since it has shown up in beta testing, it increases the chance to reach the non-beta users as well in future.

Recently, CEO of Facebook, Mark Zuckerberg in the company's Q4 2017 earnings call announced that WhatsApp has reached a new user base milestone of 1.5 billion. He added that WhatsApp witnesses around 60 billion messages being sent every day.
