French mobile handset brand Alcatel has launched a budget tablet, called the POP4 10, for the Indian consumer market. Priced at Rs 10,999, this 4G LTE tablet will be exclusively available on Flipkart. As part of the launch offer, Flipkart is offering the Alcatel KB9030 Bluetooth Keyboard at Re 1 for the first 200 customers.
The Alcatel POP4 10 was first seen at CES 2018. It boasts of a 10.1-inch full HD display of 1920x1200 pixels resolution. The tablet also packs an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 processor, paired with 2GB RAM. As for storage, it offers 16GB internal memory with microSD card support of up to 32GB. Besides this, it also has 5GB Onetouch Cloud storage support.
The Pop4 10 runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow out-of-the-box and is backed by a 5830mAh battery, claimed to last up to 30 hours of talk time.
For imaging duties, the tablet sports an 8MP rear camera and a 5MP front facing snapper. Connectivity options include 4G LTE, Bluetooth 4.2, A-GPS, Wi-Fi b/g/n and Wi-Fi Direct.
Speaking at the launch, Praveen Valecha, Regional Director, Alcatel India said, "Premium design and high performance are two of the most sought-after features by a tablet user. At CES 2018, the company also showed three handsets -- Alcatel 1X, Alcatel 3V and Alcatel 5 -- which are part of the company's line-up for the current year.
Out of the three, Alcatel 1X comes with the specs of a budget device, Alcatel 3V is a mid-segment smartphone, while the Alcatel 5 is their most-premium device. None of these handsets have made it to the Indian shores yet, but they are expected to be launched in the first half of 2018.
