Top 5 functions of the Sony Xperia XZs

The Sony Xperia XZs was originally launched during the MWC over a month ago. The handset will now be making its way to the Indian markets, with an unspecified price tag. There have been rumors that the handset will be priced at Rs 50,000 or higher, which we hope isn’t true, especially considering the pricing set by the likes of OnePlus and others.

So what are some of the best features of the device?

Camera:

This isn’t particularly a surprise given that the company is using a new 19MP Motion Eye camera on the back. Interestingly, this is a slightly smaller sensor compared to last year’s Xperia XZ, which sports a 23MP rear camera. However, Sony has worked on this particular aspect, so one can hope that the images will be significantly better than the predecessor. There’s a 13MP front facing camera as well, assuring you of some decent selfies.

Speakers:

We take the onboard speakers for granted these days, mainly due to the fact that companies offer exceptional speakers with smartphones. However, the trend of stereo speakers has changed somewhat over the past few months, but Sony is holding steady with the Xperia XZs. Featuring the iconic front facing stereo speakers, the Xperia XZs is surely not going to disappoint in this area.

Speed:

Ensuring a snappy user experience is the quad-core Snapdragon 820 chipset on board the handset. Even though the chipset is originally from last year, there is no denying that it will perform on par with most flagships available in the industry today. The Xperia XZs also comes with 4GB of RAM, letting you get the best out of your phone.

Display:

Even though the phone uses the same 5.2-inch Full HD (1920x1080) display from the predecessor, it does the job pretty well. Given the smaller size, users can expect a crisp and pixel dense panel, something that will come to good use when viewing media content or browsing through pictures. Much like other Sony handsets, this one too uses the company’s proprietary Triluminos display on board.

Water resistance:

The Xperia XZs comes with IP68 certified water/dust resistance, making it stand out amongst the crowd of smartphones available out there. Even though there are quite a few water-resistant handsets in the market, this feature hasn’t quite become mainstream yet. Keeping this in mind, this could be a crucial factor for a handful of customers.
