It is rumoured to have a 6.2-inch QHD+ Super AMOLED display and above it you’ll find an iris scanner and an 8MP front-facing camera. Around the back you’ll find a 12MP Dual Pixel camera.

Chinese smartphone maker Oppo will unveil a new smartphone with 5x zoomingability at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Barcelona, Spain, later this month. The company has teased the smartphone with the tagline 'Go 5x further' on its Facebook page.

Reliance Jio tariff plan kicks off from April

Reliance Jio will start charging customers from April 1st, but will offer discounted prices for a year to those who sign up by the end of March, said the company. Customers who sign up by March 31 will be able to use unlimited data and voice services for a year at Rs 303 a month under a special offer, said Mukesh Ambani. 

According to the tariff plan, Jio will match the highest selling tariff of other operators and provide 20 per cent more data than what other operators provide.

As we already know, Samsung has scheduled its press event on February 26 but MWC but February 27 is the official date when MWC 2017 starts. It is being said that the company will unveil the Tab S3 on February 26 and reveal the some details about the Galaxy S8 on February 27. 

HTC reveals HTC U Ultra and U Play price


The Taiwanese smartphone maker has finally revealed the price of the HTC U Ultra and the HTC U Play for UK market. Both the smartphones are listed on company’s official online store as well as at third party retailers. The HTC U Ultra is priced starting GBP 649 (approx. Rs. 54,000), and the HTC U Play is priced starting GBP 399 (approx. Rs 33,000). Both the smartphones will start shipping from March 1. 

ISRO sends 104 satellites in one go 

Indian rocket Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle (PSLV) on Wednesday morning lifted off successfully with a record 104 satellites, including the country's earth observation satellite Cartosat-2 series. 

Facebook rolls out video app for TV


Facebook Inc is launching an app for smart TVs that will help the social network's users enjoy its videos on a bigger screen. The app will roll out soon from app stores for Apple TV, Samsung Smart TV and Amazon Fire TV, the company said in a blogpost on Tuesday.

Taiwanese hardware and electronics corporation Acer on Wednesday launched a convertible laptop "Acer Spin 3" in India at Rs 42,999. The device boasts 15.6-inch HD Acer "Color Intelligence" display, 360-degree hinge and offers up to nine hours of battery back-up.

Idea cellular shares fall by 3% in Q3 2016


Shares of Idea Cellular fell by nearly 3 percent after the company logged a consolidated net loss of Rs 383.87 crore for the December 2016 quarter.

Delhi High Court rules against taxi unions blocking Uber trips

The Delhi High Court in its ruling said “Till further orders, the defendants (unions) are restrained from stopping/blocking of the cars of the driver partners of the plaintiff (Uber) or removing/ confiscating the devices installed in those cars including in any manner hampering, obstructing or interfering in the legitimate business of the plaintiff and in this regard, causing violence in any manner.”

Home Ministry website hacked?

The website of the Union Home Ministry was non-functional on Sunday and officials said cyber experts were trying to ascertain if it had been hacked. 

"I don't know when the site developed the snag," ministry spokesperson K.S. Dhatwalia told IANS. "Details will be available after we find out the glitches. 

Tim Cook predicts: Augmented Reality could be as big as smartphone

"I regard it as a big idea like the smartphone. The smartphone is for everyone, we don't have to think the iPhone is about a certain demographic, or country or vertical market: it's for everyone. I think AR is that big, it's huge," Cook said. 

"I view AR like I view the silicon here in my iPhone, it's not a product per se, it's a core technology," he added.

LG G6 confirmed to have top-tier audio skills

That news comes straight from LG itself, with the company claiming that with this new DAC there will be almost no loss of acoustic information, and distortion levels of just 0.0002%, leading to clean sound that’s almost identical to the original recording. 

This new 32-bit DAC can also control the left and right earphones separately, for more balanced sound, which LG reckons brings the experience closer to feeling like you’re actually at a live concert. 

Tim Cook wants steps ahead to fight fake news

Apple CEO, Tim Cook has urged companies to raise their voices in unison about the growing menace of fake news that’s floating around on Facebook and Twitter. He mentioned that people are merely complaining now, and there needs to be something like a PSA (public service announcement) to call out fake news when they emerge. Cook mentioned that fake news today is “killing people’s minds.” Those are pretty strong words coming from the CEO of one of the biggest companies in the world. 

Reliance Jio customers to get 6-Series numbers

Reliance Jio has been granted permission by the Department of Telecommunications (DoT) to use 6-Series numbers, i.e. mobile numbers that begin with ‘6’. The carrier can use these numbers in Assam, Rajasthan, and Tamil Nadu. 

Indian smartphone market grew by 5.2 per cent in 2016

According to a recent report from market research firm International Data Corporation (IDC), India registered 109.1 million units of smartphone shipments in 2016. Despite of the demonetisation drive in November, there is a marginal 5.2 per cent of annual growth in 2016. 

Nokia may revive the legendary N-series

Nokia has filed the “Nseries” trademark with the Chinese State Administration for Industry and Commerce (SAIC). The trademark documents were first spotted on SAIC’s website on Wednesday. This hints that the company may come up with all new Nseries in China by the end of this year.

It is strongly anticipated that Apple will introduce wireless charging in at least one of the new models. According to a report by KGI Analyst Ming Chi Ko, procured by MacRumors, all three models releasing in 2017 will sport wireless charging.
