Starbucks launches dedicated mobile app for digital payments

Starbucks India has now launched new mobile applications for Android and iOS, allowing users to pay for their coffee directly from their smartphone. This digital payments application works with your Starbucks Card, which is needed to authenticate your account and accrue or claim reward points. 

Payments can be done with a simple “Shake” gesture which will automatically open the payments page on the app. Each coffee you buy will also give you certain reward points which can be used at a later date against your purchases. Naturally, you will also be able to add balance to your Starbucks Card to avoid hassles and make easy payments as you go. 

You will find the ability to join the My Starbucks rewards program through the app, which will also allow you to track your rewards, and also find upcoming Starbucks promotions. The app allows you to locate your nearest Starbucks outlet as well. All these factors combined make for a very pleasurable experience for Starbucks customers. 

The applications are currently live on the Google Play Store as well as the iTunes App Store for free. Considered to be one of the premium coffee outlets in India, Starbucks has a large influx of urban youth. The addition of this new app will no doubt go a long way in reaching out to the masses.
