Chinese mobile manufacturer Oppo has announced on its Twitter handle that it is going to unveil a dual selfie camera phone , F3 Plus, in five international markets: India, Indonesia, Myanmar, the Philippines and Vietnam on 23rd March 2017.
It comes with a 16MP selfie snapper that is accompanied by an 8MP sensor, which measures the depth information. The implementation is similar to what we have been seeing on honor phones, Vivo phones, etc. Vivo recently launched a phone with 20MP+8MP selfie camera system.
Though there is no official information on other specifications of the phone, it will supposedly come with a large 6-inch display with Snapdragon 653 and 4GB RAM under the hood. A 4000 mAh battery will reportedly fuel the device.
A small variant of F3 Plus called Oppo F3 may also be announced during the launch. It may also come with a dual selfie camera, however, with less resolution cameras.
Oppo has been making unrelenting efforts to lure the camera lovers, especially selfie camera lovers. Recently atMobile World Congress (MWC) 2017, it showcased a breakthrough camera technology called ‘5x Dual Camera Zoom’ that enables users to do an optical zoom upto 3x. Also, it uses intelligent algorithms to achieve up to 5x lossless zoom.
The success of F3 series will play a crucial role in maintaining the soaring market share in India. In December 2016, its market share rose to 10.9% beating the likes of Xiaomi, LeEco, Micromax, etc.
