Here Lenovo rolls latest out Moto G5 and Moto G5 Plus, coming soon to India

Bearing minor heating issues, Moto G4 Plus is a perfect mid-ranger with an excellent camera for its price. It received a tremendous response from the masses, who loved the stock Android experience and camera. Lenovo-owned Motorola has launched the successors of Moto G4 series at an event in MWC 2017. Keeping the tradition, Motorola has released two phones under Moto G5 series called Moto G5 and Moto G5 Plus. However, it finally implemented metallic construction on Moto G series.

Moto G5 Plus comes with a 5.2-inch full HD (1080 x 1920 pixels) IPS LCD panel with a pixel density of 424ppi. Under to hood, it runs a Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 octa-core chipset with Cortex A-53 cores clocked at 2Ghz, paired with Adreno 506 GPU. In the storage segment, it comes with 32GB or 64GB internal storage with an option to expand the storage via microSD card and RAM varies from 2GB-4GB depending on the model you chose.

On the camera front, Moto G5 Plus houses a 12MP rear camera with large f/1.7 aperture and dual-autofocus pixels and a 5MP camera on the front. Connectivity options include Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, 4G LTE and microUSB V 2.0. The fingerprint sensor is located on the bottom bezel that supports swiping gestures, which can be used to replicate the functions of on-screen buttons.

It runs on Android 7.0 Nougat with few customizations from Motorola. It has non-removable 3000mAh battery that's claimed to give all-day battery life. Further, support for 10W turbocharging ensures the battery is refueled in no time.

On the other hand, the cheaper variant Moto G5 comes with a 5.0-inch full HD (1080 x 1920 pixels) IPS LCD panel with a pixel density of 441ppi. Under to hood, it runs a Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 octa-core chipset with Cortex-A53 cores clocked at 1.4Ghz, paired with Adreno 505 GPU. In the storage segment, it comes with 16GB or 32GB internal storage with an option to expand the storage via microSD card and RAM varies from 2GB-3GB depending on the model you chose.

In the camera department, Moto G5 sports a 13MP sensor with f/2.0 aperture and support PDAF. The camera on the front is a 5MP sensor. While connectivity options and OS remains same as G5 Plus, a slightly less capacity removable 2800mAh battery fuels this phone.

The USP of Moto G series is offering decent specs at an affordable price. The Moto G5 series is no different. The G5 will start at $199; whereas, G5 Plus will start at $229. The exact pricing for each model is yet to be revealed.
