OnePlus 5 rumours hint at 256GB storage, 23MP camera

Ideally, the next phone from OnePlus should be called the OnePlus 4. But apparently, the company is skipping a number for its next phone. Reports says that the next phone from the company will be called OnePlus 5 and that it will launch in the next couple of months. Along with the name other hardware details of the phone have also leaked but they seem rather implausible, if you ask us.
According to rumours from South Korea, the OnePlus 5 is likely to come with 256GB storage, which will be double of what is there in the OnePlus 3T, 8GB RAM and Qualcomm Snapdragon 835. It is also likely to have a screen that will be curved on both sides, similar to the screen in the Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge. Then there are the cameras. The rumours hint that the OnePlus 5 will have a 23-megapixel rear camera and a 16-megapixel front camera. For now nothing is known about the design of the phone, although there is a talk of it sporting a ceramic body similar to what Xiaomi used for Mi Mix.
While the rumours sound tempting, they also don't seem to make sense. At least, not in the way they have come and for now we know too little about the OnePlus 5 to form any opinion about it or its hardware.
As OnePlus explained earlier, its attempt is always to create the best phone in the market. With the OnePlus 3 and the OnePlus 3T the company came very close to delivering on its promise. In fact once you see the price of these two phones, they indeed look like the best phones you can buy, something that has prompted India Today Tech to put them in our monthly phone buying guide again and again. Given that OnePlus will follow the same strategy for the OnePlus 5, we suspect that that hardware in that phone will not be gimmicky or over the top. Instead, it will be something that will get the basics right, just the way OnePlus 3 and the OnePlus 3T did. Hopefully.
