Two days ago Nokia launched the Android-powered Nokia 6, Nokia 3 and the Nokia 5 along with the new Nokia 3310 at Mobile World Congress. The phones are supposed to reach most of the markets in the second quarter of this year, which means after April. Now there is a report saying that the Nokia 5, Nokia 6 and the Nokia 3 will come to India in June and that they will be made in India.
According to FoneArena, Nokia's Indian head Ajey Mehta has confirmed that the three phones will be made in Foxconn's India facilities. If you recall, last year when HMD, which will sell Nokia-branded phones, was formed it had announced that all its phones will be manufactured by Foxconn. At the same time, Foxconn had also bought several Nokia-owned phone factories from Microsoft, which had earlier acquired them when it bought Nokia's phone business.
Mehta reportedly also said that the new Nokia phones will launch in India in June. Earlier the impression that went out was that the Nokia 5, Nokia 3 and the Nokia 6 will launch in India in April, considering that is when Nokia will start rolling out the phones in important markets and India is definitely one of the most important markets for the company.
Just to refresh your memory, the Nokia 6, Nokia 5 and Nokia 3 were launched a couple of days ago. The Nokia 6, which will have a price of around Euros 229, is a mid-range phone with a 5.5-inch screen and metal body. It will use Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 processor. Then there is the Nokia 5, which is similar to the Nokia 6 but has a 5.2-inch screen. It will sell for around Euros 189. The Nokia 3 is the cheapest of these phones.
