The partnership aims to make it easier for commuters to book an Uber and also brings with a discount of Rs 50 on the first three rides booked on PayTm via the code PAYTM17.
How to hail an Uber using PayTm
Upon opening the PayTM app, all you have to do is click on the option ‘book a ride’ after which you will be automatically redirected to the Uber app. If you don’t have the Uber app installed, you will see a pop asking you to download the app.Also read : 5 Best mobile wallet services in India
This is in contrast to the tie up with Google Maps in which it is not necessary to have the Uber app installed in order to hail a cab.
Uber also partnered with PayTm in 2014 as well in order to enable payments via the PayTM wallet on the Uber app.
Following demonetisation, the push for a cashless economy and the widespread adoption of UPI and BHIM, PayTM also recently added the ability to add money to your PayTM wallet using UPI. PayTM is India’s No.1 mobile wallet service and with such initiatives will only help strengthen its position.
