The HTC 10 Evo , which was launched in Taiwan in November 2016 has finally made its way to Indian shores at a price of Rs 48,990. The HTC 10 Evo is the global variant of the HTC Bolt, which was launched in U.S.A last year.
The HTC 10 Evo is a rather odd device. On one hand, it comes packed to the gills with modern technologies such as a 16MP rear camera with OIS, USB Type-C headphone support, 4K video recording, a fingerprint sensor, 4G and NFC support. On the other hand, the device is powered by the extremely dated Snapdragon 810 SoC and only 3GB of RAM.
To put things into perspective, the Snapdragon 810 was launched in 2015. Qualcomm’s current flagship processor is the Snapdragon 835 which is expected to be seen in the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S8 and LG G6.
One of the highlights of the device is its audio capabilities. The device comes with USB-Typce C ‘dual adaptive’ headphones that adjust their output according to the users hearing and ear structure.
Additionally, the device comes with 32GB of internal storage which can be expanded via a microSD card (of upto 2TB) as well as HTC Boom Sound Adaptive Audio. Sadly the device lacks a headphone jack which might be a deal breaker for some.
When it comes to the rest of the specifications, the HTC 10 Evo comes with a 5.5-inch QuadHD display protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 5,Android 7.0 Nougat out of the box with free unlimited photo storage via Google Photos, an 8MP front facing camera with screen flash, NFC, Bluetooth v4.1, Wi-Fi 8-2.11 a/b/g/n/ac and a 3200mAh battery with Qualcomm Quick Charge 2.0 support.
