Here is Panasonic launches three new Toughpad devices

Panasonic is not the first name that comes to mind when we talk about rugged devices. But the company has made the space its own with the Toughpad series. Today, the company has launched three new devices in the lineup known as the Toughpad FZ-F1, FZ-N1, and the FZ-A2 tablet.

All three devices come with the ability to detect raindrops on the display, a 1D/2D barcode reader, along with the ability to use the device in broad daylight. The tablets are not meant for the average consumer as evidenced by the steep price tags. Panasonic will also have a tough time convincing enterprises and corporate operations to invest in these devices owing to the price.

As far as the features are concerned, the FZ-F1 and the FZ-N1 come with angled barcode readers which makes it easier to scan barcodes. Further, the Toughpad has been tested extensively by Panasonic for durability. The company claims that the devices have been dropped 2,000 times from a height of 3.3 feet. The company claims that it can also sustain drops from up to 6 feet, so the company is not messing around when it comes to durability. All three devices are IP67 certified water/dust resistant.

The FZ-F1 and the FZ-N1 are packing 4.7-inch HD (1280x720) displays, the 2.3 GHz quad-core Snapdragon processor, 2GB of RAM, 16GB of storage (expandable via microSD), an 8MP rear camera, a 5MP front camera, and a 3,200mAh battery. The company also offers an optional 6,000mAh battery which can be easily swapped with the existing 3,200mAh unit.

The FZ-A2 is a 10.1-inch tablet which packs a 4GB of RAM, 32GB of internal storage, the quad-core Intel Atom x5-Z8550, and Android 6.0 Marshmallow. The tablet is priced at Rs 1.20 lakhs (plus tax).

The FZ-F1 and the FZ-N1 will be priced at Rs 1.09 lakhs (plus tax) and Rs 99,000 (plus tax) respectively. We’re not sure if these tablets will actually have a positive impact on the market, but Panasonic surely thinks so.
