NEW DELHI: HP has unveiled what it claims is the industry's first-ever mini workstation, the Z2 Mini, in India. The workstation PC sports a starting price tag of Rs 72,000 and will go on sale starting January 25.
According to the company, Z2 Mini is aimed at designers in Computer Aided Design (CAD) and other compute-intensive industries. The workstation is 2.3-inch in height and is claimed to be 90% smaller than the traditional business-class PCs. HP also claims that its Z2 Mini device is twice as powerful as a commercial mini PC in the market. It also has the ability to support six displays.
In India, the HP Z2 Mini (X8U88AV) comes in three variants based on different processors. The first variant comes with Intel Xeon E3-1225 v5 processor with Intel HD Graphics P530. The second features the Intel Xeon E3-1245 v5 processor clubbed with the same GPU. The last, and the most premium variant runs on 6th Generation Intel Core i7 processor with Intel HD Graphics 530.
All three variants can support up to 32GB DDR4 RAM and are powered by Windows 10 Pro 64-bit OS version. On storage front, the HP Z2 Mini models feature up to 512GB SSD storage. As for the connectivity, the HP Z2 Mini model that's available in India sports 2 USB 3.0 ports, 2 USB 3.1 Gen. Type-C sports and 1 audio line in.
