Nowadays, mobile devices are rapidly changing the way we communicate information and do things on daily basis. There are more and more “smartphone-dependent” people who communicate any kind of visual information with the help of mobile devices. On the other hand, such digital storytelling social platforms as SnapChat, Facebook, Instagram, etc. allow people not only to unleash their creativity but also to go viral by being funny and weird. Many people love creating visual mashups with their friends, favourite celebrities or even the future president and sharing those into social media channels.
There are a number of apps available for Android based smartphones to help photographers of any skill level in taking and editing photos like a pro. Such popular photo editing apps as Snapseed, Pixlr, AirBrush, BeFunky are easy-to-use graphic-manipulation programs that allow the selfie or photography addict users to put dozens of different effects, filters and frames on the selected image to achieve a brand- new attractive result. However, in the modern realities many users are looking into opportunities to go viral by creating funny and weird images and sharing those on social media channels. They want to take advantage of one common feature, the smart cutout, which will make it possible to cut out, replace and remove certain elements of an image with the convenience of fingertips directly from a mobile phone.
The smart cutout feature is not available on the highly ranked photo editing apps in the Android market. The good news is that Pixomatic app has recently rolled out its Android version that is compatible with  Android version 4.4 KitKat and upper and allows the user to perform accurate and convenient cutouts. Pixomatic app has an algorithm that automatically detects the edges of the selected image area allowing to make intelligent cutouts from an image along with the possibility to replace or remove the backgrounds, clone selected parts from an image, apply different filters, add shadow, etc. To make the edits look more realistic one can also take advantage of the available 3D touch and duo filters. Pixomatic app iOSversion is available for 4.99USD and is compatible with iPhone, iPad and iPod touch. The iOS version has additional Double Exposure and Refine tools, as well as different in-app free backgrounds and stickers.
