Freedom 251 first 2 lakh shipments, ready to ship on 30 June: Last February, the Freedom 251 was unveiled as the cheapest smartphone in the world with the price tag of INR 251. It gained a very big momentum, but after then suspicions began to pile up.

With a more accurate and less flattering one the fiasco began with swapping a beautiful picture of the device, and it was all OK and you know that it costs $4. But then first prototypes were sent to the media that were some poorly masked Adcom phones that were normally sell in the Indian market for about $50 and then finally, all of Android icons were absolutely identical with the Apple’s iOS ones.
To keep the media out of the brand, Ringing Bells fought, but eventually it came under the investigation by the Indian government, and it was falsely introduced as a participating party in the Freedom 251 development.
Then all ended with the investigation and Ringing Bells to promise of fulfilling all the pre-orders.
So after four months later we are here today, on the verge for seeing the first batch to hit the market. The company announced that on June 30 it will begin shipping the Freedom 251 and it claims that it has north of 200,000 units ready and waiting.
Anyway, if you people have any doubts whether the Freedom 251 exists or not, then may be these live pictures will help. The 4-inch $4 with 4-core processor was caught in wild and is indeed real. All other specifications include:

So, June 30 is almost here, so we will get to know if Ringing Bells succeeds in making the world’s cheapest smartphone against all the odds or not.
