Fallout 4 has gotten a lot more exciting over the past couple of weeks, with thew new Survival Mode and the introduction of mods to the PC version of the game. According to the official announcement from Bethesda, Survival Mode is anticipated to come to the console versions soon. The initial announcement said “next week,” but since that would have put it near the end of April, we’ve already passed that window. However, that makes it more likely that the Survival Mode update should hit the PS4 and Xbox One soon.
Survival isn’t a different game mode, but rather a higher difficulty level. If you’re comfortable with Fallout 4’s normal difficulty and looking for a heftier challenge, Survival Mode is what you want. Among other things that increase its difficulty, it removes your ability to use fast travel and only lets you save your game when you sleep.
It went through beta testing for the PC version before being released in the update. Some fans are actually hoping it will come to consoles today.
Meanwhile, mods are also coming to Fallout 4 on consoles. Right now, Bethesda’s plans are to bring a beta test for Fallout 4 mods to Xbox One version of the game in May. After that, mods will come to the PS4 version in June.
It’s already may, so Xbox One owners can look forward to Fallout 4 mods hopefully arriving in the near future. PS4 owners will have to wait a little longer, but it still won’t be too long before you can enjoy the mods too. Console players, which Fallout 4 mods are you looking forward to the most?
With Survival Mode past its anticipated due date for consoles and release windows set for Xbox One and PS4 mods, this should be an exciting time for Fallout 4 fans. We’ll keep you updated as we learn more, especially if anything more specific comes to light about Survival Mode.
