Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 Review in First Impression: The Redmi Note 3 was released in China the previous year. Xiaomi makes another move and is all set to launch the handset in India. However the same gadget that is launched in two different countries has a major difference. On one side the phone released in India has the Snapdragon 659 processor and on the other hand, the Chinese version has the MediaTek Helio X10 processor.
This new Xiaomi smart phone comes with new technologies that have managed to satisfy its users. First, this is the first handset of the company which comes with a full metal body frame. Secondly, it is the first time that Xiaomi provides the finger print scanner.
Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 Review
The phone was announced a while back on the 3rd of March this year. Xiaomi is about to bring out another stunning phone which is among the most awaited- the Xiaomi Mi5. The Redmi Note series have always satisfied us. Let’s hope for the best for this model too.
Here are a few features of the phone that gives us an impression about the device.
BUILT DESIGN
The smart phone has a metal framed body. This is a first metal body for Xiaomi. The phone has curves at the sides. The finger screen scanner that is present at the back side is situated just below the back camera. The LED flash is present in the space between the finger print scanner and the camera. The speaker is there at the back side towards the lower part.
Towards the left side, you will find the slots for the sim cards and the USB port is found at the base of the phone. When you look at the right side, you will find the volume buttons as well as the power button. The audio jack present is of 3.5 mm. The non occurrence of sharp edges and the matte finish together prevents the phone from slipping and helps you hold it with ease. Even the volume and power button comes with metal finish. The thickness of the phone is 8.7 mm and it weighs around 164 grams.
FEATURES
The Redmi series is itself known for the amazing features that it offers at such affordable prices. This handset is no exception. The phone consists of a quad core and a dual core processor which combines to form a hexa core processor. The processor is equipped with the adreno 510 GPU. The phone comes in two versions. One of them has a 2 GB RAM and has internal memory 16 GB.
On the contrary, the other version is a bit enhanced and comes with a 3 GB RAM and has 32GB internal memory but you can only use about 26 GB. You also get an option of expanding your storage memory with the help of a SD card. It works on the Android 5.1 version. The camera quality also impresses us. The back camera has 16 MP and the front camera has 5 MP. The aperture provided in the back camera is f/2.0. It is compatible with Bluetooth, Wifi, GPS as well as FM Radio.
DISPLAY
The handset sports a 5.5 inch screen which is a fullHD one. The LCD screen provides good viewing angles. However, there lies a disappointment- the screen gets coated with a layer of smudge very often which requires frequent cleaning. Although the glass used is scratch resistant, the phone is devoid of the Gorilla glass protection. The phone also has the sunlight display technology and so you can now walk into sunlight without having to bother about the brightness level- it gets adjusted by default.
SOFTWARE
The phone works on the MIUI 7 operating system too. Although this few months old OS is very similar the the last version, it does have some new themes. It has a feature called “showtime” by which you can update a profile pictures which the other MIUI OS users can see. The messaging module has been enhanced- it sorts your contact messages and the service ones into different module for easy navigation. Another user friendly technology which has been added is- the OTP that are generated for various issues are copied to your clipboard automatically. Thus you do not need to waste time opening the message and copying it. You also do not have to unnecessarily swap through screens. All the important things appear in floating clouds. There is a presence of a hidden album also. There are a lot of pre installed apps provided. A few other screen sizes are also offered.
PERFORMANCE
The connection and call facilities are very impressive- you get proper connection even at remote places. The speakers give no trouble too. The processor provides a good performance and games work perfectly fine and smooth. Within the associated price range, the phone is very good when it comes to performance. Although it is a flagship between two operating systems, it does not hang or lag unnecessarily. It does, however, take a long time to reboot. There is no sign of heating in the phone even while you are playing games unlike the previous models. The finger print scanner works smooth and swift without any trouble.
BATTERY
The battery is the thing that pleases us to a great extent. It has a 4050mAh battery. Thus, you can use your phone to your hearts content by charging it just once. A fully charged handset would last for more than a day. Use the battery saver mode to enjoy further benefits.
CONCLUSION
The two variants costs around 9,999 and 11,999 respectively. The latter favours smooth multi-tasking more than the former one. If you are looking for a good phone with stunning battery back up and performance within an affordable range, there is no one who can beat the Redmi Note 3. However if the phone would have worked better in low light and would feature the Marshmallow version of Android, it would have been flawless. Nevertheless, this is a perfect handset, you should go for it.
