Gujarat Village bans mobiles for single women: The very village which is the home town of the Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi, Gujarat now declares a ban on the usage of mobiles by the single women living there. This ban is because the elder generation thinks that mobiles act as nuisance in this society and this technology must be condemned.

The members of the council in the village of Suraj in Mehsana, which is their home district now passes out a law that from the month of February this year, mobile phones will be banned for the single women, that s for the teenagers as well as the young unmarried women.
They council thinks that liquors and mobile phones are both similar in nature, meaning both are a nuisance to the society and the family. The head of the village Devshi Vankar passes on this resolution and also claims that that the same law will be soon passed for the school boys who are quite young.
Devshi Vankar claims that mobile phones are a source of distraction for the unmarried women who tend to get involved in the gadgets and are distracted from the household chores. The young girls are also distracted from their studies. The village has a population of about two thousand inhabitants.
According to the laws, if any person is caught talking over the telephone or even owning one will be charged and will have to pay a fine of 2100 rupees. The council also offers an amount of rupees 200 to the people who informs them.
However, the said people will have the right to talk over the phone which belongs to their parents as well as relatives. The said ban was actually called when the council had gathered for a meeting regarding the discussion of the alcohol abuse problem which is becoming a threat.
It is quite ironical that last year the government had imposed the digital India technology but we stay in a nation where still more than a billion people are not connected to the internet.
