Apple first offshore technology development center open in India: Apple has decided to open its first technology development centre in Hyderabad. It already had a centre in Bengaluru but the facility was closed long ago. Apple has shown interest in Indian consumers, following Microsoft and Google’s footsteps. So far his development of core technologies operations has been kept inside the United States. The reports says that,” The new centre will be built on 250,000 square feet of land in the real estate firm Tishman Speyer’s WaveRock facility at Hyderabad’s IT corridor at a cost of $25 million (Rs 150 crore).”
Secretary to IT department in the state of Telangana, Jayesh Ranjan told “It’s a very positive development as Apple has not looked at cities only in India, but across many places in Europe and other parts of the world. Their decision to have the facility in Hyderabad is a strong endorsement of the city as a major IT hub in the country,” In June most probably the facility will open. It is also said that this facility is expected to create 4,500 job opportunities for the people in India. By the end of this year 2016, it will be operating in full swing.
Recently it is also confirmed by none other than the CEO of the Cupertino giant Tim Cook. He said in a recent town hall with several Apple executives that Apple is all set to bring its retail stores to India. He further said that, “India is one of Apple’s most important growth areas for the next decade.” The city will get a boost as a technology hub because of Apple’s decision, says GT Venkateshwar Rao, the Telangana State Technology Services managing director. Apple by developing its resources in Hyderabad will not only create job opportunities but will also give a brand name to the city.
