Sony H8266 with full HD+ 18:9 display and Snapdragon 845 surfaces in benchmarks
NEW DELHI: A new smartphone from Sony codenamed H8266 surfaced online last year in December on benchmarking website GeekBench. Now, the device is spotted on AnTuTu revealing some of the information about the upcoming device.

As per the latest listing, the upcoming flagship smartphone from Sony will pack a full screen display with 18:9 aspect ratio. This will be the first smartphone from Sony to come with a bezel-less display. Rumours suggest that it will be a full HD+ TRILUMINOS Display with X-Reality technology of the company.

Along with this, the device is said to be powered by Qualcomm's flagship Snapdragon 845 processor and run Android 8.1 Oreo operating system out-of-the-box. This is the second Sony smartphone to come with Android Oreo as last year the company launched its Xperia XZ1 with the same operating system.

The device is said to come with single SIM support and is said to offer IP65/IP86 rating which will make it dust and water resistant. Measuring 157 x 78 x 8.1 mm, the handset is expected to be backed by a 3240mAh battery with Qnovo Adaptive Charging support.

Some previous leaks also suggested that with this smartphone Sony will be removing the 3.5mm audio jack. The company will be giving a USB Type C post placed at the bottom of the device which can be used for both charging and listening to music. If the rumour is to be believed then this will be first Sony smartphone to come without an audio jack.

Recently, Sony also started sending out media invites for its event at MWC 2018 in Barcelona, Spain. The company has scheduled an event for February 26 at 8AM IST. It is expected that the company will unveil the same smartphone at the event.
