Samsung Galaxy A8+ first impressions: 5 things to know
NEW DELHI: South Korean consumer electronics giant Samsung launched its first A series smartphone in India this month. Dubbed Samsung Galaxy A8+, the smartphone comes with a price tag of Rs 32,999 and will compete against OnePlus 5T and the Nokia 8. Exclusively available on Amazon, the smartphone will represent the company in the mid-range segment. Here are five important features found in the Samsung Galaxy A8+.

Infinity display
Samsung Galaxy A8+ comes with the same Infinity display which the company introduced its flagship smartphones Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+. The smartphone comes with a 6-inch AMOLED display with 2220 x 1080 pixel resolution and 18:9 aspect ratio. The edge-to-edge touchscreen display is made scratch resistant with a coating of Corning Gorilla Glass on top.

Dual selfie camera
Samsung Galaxy A8+ is the first smartphone from Samsung to sport a dual selfie camera. The front of the device houses a 16MP primary camera and 8MP secondary camera with f/1.9 aperture each. The company claims that the selfie camera is also capable of capturing selfies in portrait mode. The company is called it as the Live Focus feature, which enables the users to create a 'bokeh' effect in images before and after clicking the shot.

IP68 rating

Like the earlier launched A series of smartphone the Samsung Galaxy A8+ also comes with IP68 rating, which makes the handset dust and water resistant up to certain level.


Metal and glass design

The Samsung Galaxy A series of smartphone are known for their design and form factor. Like all the earlier launched smartphones, this one also come with a metal and glass unibody design. The smartphone is comes with a metal frame and has a shiny rear panel made of glass. The rear panel is also prone to smudges courtesy the glass.


Samsung Bixby

Bixby is the virtual assistant created by Samsung which competes against Google Assistant, Siri and Cortana. The company claims that Bixby can do much more than its rivals, including being able to handle any smartphone-related task that is managed by touch.
