Here’s why the Honor 7X is as snappy as The Flash
Seldom does it happen that a mid-range smartphone strikes the perfect balance between usability, power and price. Acting as a bridge between these features, the fourth smartphone to come out of Huawei's stable is the Honor 7X. Like the young and quirky Ezra Miller's portrayal of The Flash in Justice League, Huawei's youth-oriented brand Honor has announced The Flash of mid-range smartphones. Honor's Global VP went on to claim that it will "have no competitor in that segment" and boy did they deliver. The price of Honor 7X in India is Rs 12,999 and at that price, the Honor 7X goes heads-on with budget-segment heroes such as the Redmi Note 4, Moto G5 and Mi A1.

But what is it that makes the Honor 7X worthy enough to call itself a contender in the mid-range smartphone segment and The Flash amongst other smartphones, we find out.

Minimalist display
Before The Flash gets ready to roll, he needs a compatible suit that doesn't burn when he sprints through the air. It should also look good and compliment the wearer. The most striking feature of today's smartphones is the display. The year has seen many OEMs adapt to this near bezel-less front display that sits flush in the body enhancing the look of the smartphone. With its almost 6-inch display, the Honor 7X brings an immersive, edge-to-edge viewing panel to the table. It provides a breathtaking visual experience with its full HD+ (2160x1080 pixels) IPS panel with 18:9 aspect ratio which is also made secured by a layer of Corning's Gorilla Glass, like the abrasion resistant bright red suit of The Flash where the yellow lighting bolt sits flush in the center. On the Honor 7X, whether watching movies, browsing the Internet or reading your favorite book, that extra-wide real estate in the form of a great looking display just makes it worthwhile.

Sleek build
Where more or less all smartphones look the same in the mid-range segment, the Honor 7X stands out with its sleek and compact chassis. The Honor 7X is crafted out of aluminum with rounded edges on all four sides punctuated by a matte finish which gives a premium in-hand feel. Similarly, The Flash's skintight body armor made from the same materials as those used on spacecraft for re-entering the Earth seems to be the apt analogy for the 7X. When The Flash runs at super speed, this material helps his suit to avert breakdown. It is just 7.6mm thin and weighs just around 165 g which is quite a feat considering the power it packs. It is the build of Honor 7X which is something along the lines of its Honor 8 Pro, making it distinct from other smartphones in the segment.

Snappy camera
Honor 7X comes with a dual-camera setup which isn't the first in this segment. What it does differently is the speed at which it is able to create pictures. It's blazing fast shutter speed mimics the super speed of the fastest man alive, The Flash. The cameras on the smartphone - 16-megapixel along with 2-megapixel, are snappier than most in this range and when you take in the fact that its dual-lens capture some really good looking, punchy pictures with crisp details, the 7X becomes a vehicle to showcase your photographic abilities. There's an all-new portrait mode in the Honor 7X that works in tandem with an updated algorithm and is the reason why the smartphone has a speedier focus.

The front 8-megapixel camera clicks awesome selfies which are backed by the Effects on the Honor 7X, making those pictures look just great. Even in low-light conditions, the Honor 7X captures more details than most smartphones in the segment.

Speedy performer
When it comes to sheer power, The Flash is the fastest man alive. He's even faster than the Superman. He channels the Speed Force like no other speedster has done before. As with Honor 7X which uses the company's own HiSilicon Kirin 659 octa-core chipset and so, there's little doubt about the performance. Channeling their advancements in SoC development, the Kirin 659 is a mid-range processor that churns everything you throw at it. Clocked at 2.36 GHz and coupled with a 4GB of RAM and an internal storage of 64GB, the Honor 7X is crazy fast. The experience of running many apps simultaneously on the 7X is amazing as it is buttery smooth, just like The Flash catching multiple bullets before they hit civilians. Part of the credit also goes to the company's own EMUI 5.1 skin that is build to minimise lags and enhance the overall experience. Now as The Flash has a speedier metabolism than most humans, he requires nourishment every now and then. As such, the Honor 7X is also packed with a humongous, 3,340 mAh battery which lasts for a day and then some, providing the much-needed power to the smartphone ensuring smooth performance.

All in all, the Honor 7X provides the perfect balance between style, speed, power and is the newest contender on the block just like The Flash. A cool and a different one.
