For Samsung, the Galaxy Note 8 is an important launch, not just because this is the flagship which will take on the iPhone 8, which will be revealed in September/October, or because it is the first Samsung flagship to sport dual-rear cameras. But, rather this phone comes after the disaster of the Galaxy Note 7, and for Samsung the new phone will be a chance to repair and rebuild the Note brand.Samsung Galaxy Note 8 has launched today at a special event in New York, and the live stream for the event will started at 8.30 PM IST. India users can go to the Samsung YouTube channel, Samsung website to watch the live launch of the Galaxy Note 8. The Galaxy Note 8 has been leaked in several images, and in fact was also spotted on the Samsung US website, before the listing was taken down.

9.11 pm: Samsung Galaxy Note 8 also comes with Dex support as well. This ensures a full desktop like experience with the smartphone. Samsung also revealed Bixby will support Spotify soon, but there’s not a lot of information around other apps.
8.58 pm: Samsung’s Live Focus mode, which is the ‘Bokeh Mode’ users can choose to make the background more blurred or less blurred, even after they have taken the picture. ‘Dual Capture’ will let users capture a wide angle picture and a close-up shot from the telephoto lens.

8.55 pm: On the processor front, Samsung Galaxy Note 8 has the Snapdragon 835 and Exynos 8895 depending on the country. It will come with 6GB RAM (LPDDR4) coupled with 64/128/256GB storage space. There’s also a microSD slot with 256GB. Galaxy Note 8 will run Android 7.1.1 (Nougat).
8.51 pm: Samsung Galaxy Note 8 does come with the dual rear camera, which has a 12MP + 12MP set up. Samsung is using a telephoto and a wide-angle camera on the Galaxy Note 8 with 2X optical zoom and 10X digital zoom being supported. The front camera is 8MP with Wide selfie supported. Also the rear camera had dual OIS on both the camera sensors.
8.48 pm: Samsung Galaxy Note 8 will come in four colour options: Midnight Black, Deepsea Blue, Orchid Gray and Maple Gold. Dimensions of the phone are 162.5 x 74.8 x 8.6 mm and it weighs 195. The new S-Pen has the following dimensions 108.3 x 5.8 x 4.2 mm and weighs 2.8 g. It has a 6.3-inch Quad HD+ Super AMOLED (2960 x 1440) Infinity Display with 521 ppi, which is near bezel-less display with full-frontal glass, edge-to-edge screen. There’s no home button on the Galaxy Note 8.
8.44 pm: Galaxy Note 8 is officially introduced, but the specifications have not yet been revealed by the company. However, most US publications have published details of the phone, and it’s exactly what the leaks indicated it would be.

8.15 pm: The India launch of the Galaxy Note 8 will take place later. Samsung will launch two versions of the phone: One with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor for the US market, while India will likely get the Exynos 8895 version.
8.05 pm: Samsung Galaxy Note 8 is supposed to be listed for pre-orders from August 24, according to the leaks. The Galaxy Note 8 could be one of the most expensive Note phones to have launched.
7:48 pm: Samsung Galaxy Note 8 is not the only thing launching tonight. Samsung Malaysia website already has a page live for the Gear Fit 2 Pro fitness tracker. Features of the Fit 2 Pro include GPS, Bluetooth 4.2, a 1.5-inch curved Super AMOLED display (216 x 432 pixels resolution) coupled with 4GB on board storage and 512MB RAM.
