Sony Xperia XZs with 960 FPS exquisite sluggish movement camera released at Rs 49,990

Sony India today unveiled the next iteration of company’s last year’s flagship Xperia XZ in India. The new smartphone is dubbed as the Xperia XZs and was launched earlier at the MWC 2017. The smartphone like its predecessor comes with top-end camera hardware and all the necessary upgrades that were missed on the Xperia XZ. It is priced at Rs 49,990 and will be available in Ice Blue, Black and Warm Silver colours. Xperia XZs can be pre-booked at all Sony Center, select retail outlets and online exclusively on Flipkart. 

The new smartphone from Sony comes bundled with an all-new Motion Eye Camera, which is touted as the World’s First Super Slow Motion that can record slow motion videos at 960 FPS on a smartphone. It comes with the same 5 Axis Image Stabilisation that was use in Xperia XZ, but it has the Motion Eye camera on top of it. 

The new Motion Eye camera comes with a built-in memory within an image sensor. This feature processes each image five times faster and reduces around 50% of noise to improve low-light photography. It comes with a 19MP rear camera with Exmor RS sensor, triple image sensing and 5-axis stablisation technology. On the front it has a 13MP with 22mm wide-angle lens and f/2.0 aperture. It also supports 4K video recording. 

Apart from the camera upgrades, the smartphone gets 4GB of RAM and rest of the specifications remain similar to the Xperia XZ. It has a 5.2-inch Full HD TRILUMINOS display with Gorilla Glass protection, although the version in not specified. It is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 SoC with 64GB of storage variant expandable up to 256GB via microSD. 

It runs on Android 7.0 Nougat out-of-the-box with a Sony’s own custom UI skin on top. Similar to the Xperia XZ, it also comes with the ‘Loop’ design and ALKALEIDO metal build. The battery capacity is also the same at 2900mAh and comes with Qnovo Adaptive charging with Quick Charge 3.0 support. It also has a fingerprint sensor on the side of the device. 

Connectivity options include Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.2, DLNA Certified, Google Cast, NFC, USB Type-C and GPS + GLONASS. The company has included a Quick Charger and MH-750 in-ear headphone in the box.
