Sony announced a number of smartphones at this year’s MWC (Mobile World Congress) including the Xperia XZ Premium and the Xperia Xzs. Within a month of the announcement, Sony has launched the Xperia XZs in India for Rs 49,990.
The XZs comes with Sony’s premium loop design and uses ALKALEIDO metal – an entirely new form of aluminium. The phone is IP68 certified for dust and water resistance like the Xperia XZ.
The Xperia XZs is the world’s first smartphone with Sony’s new Motion Eye Camera. The Motion Eye Camera is capable of recording video in 960fps slow motion making this the world’s first super slow motion camera in a smartphone.
It has a 19MP sensor with f2.0 aperture, predictive capture hybrid autofocus (phase detection plus laser autofocus), 1.22um pixel size and 5-axis image stabilization capable of recording 4k video. The front camera is a 13MP sensor with f2.0 aperture and 22mm wide angle lens.
In terms of specifications, the Xperia XZs is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor, 4GB RAM, 64GB storage and a 2,900mAh battery.
Other features include expandable storage (up to 256GB supported), Hybrid Sim slot, fingerprint scanner, USB Type-C port with fast charging support, stereo speakers, 4G, VoLTE, WiFi ac, Bluetooth 4.2, NFC, GPS and Android 7.1 out of the box. The phone has a 5.2-inch display powered by Sony’s X-Reality Engine with 1920 x 1080 pixels resolution.
Xperia XZs will be available in three colors – Ice Blue, Black and Warm Silver. It will be available for pre-booking from 4th to 10th April 2017 at Sony stores or online exclusively at Flipkart.
Pre-booking customers will receive a free Sony SRS-XB10 wireless Bluetooth speaker. In this price, the Xperia XZs competes directly with the Samsung S7 and HTC 10.
