Ola’s connected car platform Ola Play is now available on its hourly package service Ola Rentals. With this move, Ola hopes to improve the demand for this category by atleast 4x over the next quarter.Ola Play was launched in November 2016 in a bid to change the in-car experience for riders. It provides advanced car controls like AC-temperature, choice of personalized content along with a tablet and for the users. The company has partnered with content creators like Arre, Apple Music, Sony LIV, AIB, TVF and others for the content.
The service was first launched for users of Ola Select, the company's premium membership service and was then rolled for customers on its Prime category.
Ola said Ola Rentals which was introduced early last year, is now available in close to 100 cities.
"The ridesharing world needs a radically new approach, and both Ola Play and Rentals, have set high benchmarks for future innovations in this space. The two together will provide a highly personalised, context aware ride experience, as customers move from one point to another and resume on Play right from where they left last, after each meeting or engagement" said Ankit Jain, Sr. Director and Head of Ola Play.
