Following the widespread adoption of UPI and BHIM, leading mobile wallet provider, Paytm, has now included the ability to add money to your wallet using UPI. This is designed to make things easier for the consumers as Paytm is accepted in some of the places where even debit cards don’t work. The process is fairly simple as well, so here’s how you can get started on it right away.
The payment process is fairly simple, but it’s only available onPaytm’s web interface at the moment. You will need to login to Paytm through your web browser, click on the Add Money button, and UPI will now be visible as one of the payment options. Following this, it’s as simple as entering your VPA, which will then send a request to your UPI application.
You will now need to open the UPI app where the collect request will visible to you. You will then have the option to accept or decline the request. Similarly, you can request payments from other contacts by entering their VPA, making it convenient to collect payments from your friends and loved ones.
This makes paying through Paytm much easier if you’re not particularly keen on entering your credit/debit card or internet banking details online.
