Now new OnePlus 3T, 3 receiving Android 7.1.1 update via OxygenOS Open Beta

If you are a OnePlus 3T or OnePlus 3 user, here is some good news for you. OnePlus announced the availability of new builds of OxygenOS open beta for both the phones. Both these phones were updated to Android 7.0 Nougat in late December. The latest update for the stable channel is OxygenOS 4.0.3, based on Android 7.0 Nougat.

However, you can get the Android 7.1.1 Nougat update on your OnePlus 3T or OnePlus 3 by switching to the OxygenOS open beta channel. 

For OnePlus 3T, you can download OxygenOS Open Beta 3 build, while for OnePlus 3, you can download the OxygenOS Open Beta 12 build. The update not only brings the latest version of Android, it also brings some new features. Here is a changelog: 

* Upgraded to Android 7.1.1 

* New Shot on OnePlus wallpaper option 

* Gallery Improvements 

* New photo editor with watermark and photo straightening options 

* Newly added media will be highlighted in Photos section 

* Image location will be displayed on grid view 

* Media can be grouped by month and year 

* Folders and individual media can be hidden 

* General bug fixes

* Android pay not able to work on London TFL/Tube 

* This can be resolved by updating the app via Play store 

* Compatability issues with certain third party apps 

Existing beta channel users will receive this update OTA. However, if you are on the stable channel, you can switch to the beta channel by flashing the relevant OxygenOS open beta builds from here.
