Chinese OEM Xiaomi has announced the launch of the Mi Walkie-Talkie and Ultra Smart Shoes in China. The devices were part of the company’s crowdfunding projects, and have struck a chord with the Chinese customers already. This walkie-talkie is quite different from the wide range of devices that are available out there. It comes with support for Ultra High Frequency (UHF) and Very High Frequency (VHF) bands, which makes it stand out from the crowd.
Further, it has a small LCD display on the front with the battery indicator. There’s a standard micro USB port on board for charging. It comes with a 2,600mAh battery and a standby time of 8 days, making it a very attractive product overall. The walkie-talkie has been priced at 249 CNY (Rs 2,400).
The Ultra Smart Shoes or the90 Minutes Ultra Smart Sportswear is basically a pair of shoes that is equipped with a range of sensors to track your movements and steps as well as the amount of calories burned on a given day. This is not similar to Nike’s Hyperadapt shoes which can tie its laces on its own. However, thanks to the sensors on board, the name smart shoes does have some meaning. It has been priced at 300 CNY (Rs 2,890).
The smart shoes are still in the crowd funding stage and will be officially available in April. There’s no mention of when the walkie-talkie will be available for purchase, but it is also being crowd funded right now.
