Though Xiaomi Mi Mix didn't hit international markets, it was well acclaimed by smartphone enthusiasts across the world for its incredible screen-to-body ratio and powerful hardware. Now, Xiaomi is gearing up to launch its successor that will be reportedly named as Mi Mix 2. The company CEO Lei Jun already confirmed that Philippe Starck, French designer, who designed Mi Mix will also design Mi Mix 2.
According to reports from China, unlike Mi Mix, the upcoming Mi Mix 2 will not have any physical home button, thus, further increasing the screen-to-body ratio to 93 percent. To put in perspective, Mi Mix has 91.3 percent screen-to-body ratio and LG G6 has 78 percent screen-to-body ratio.
Xiaomi may opt for AMOLED display instead of IPS LCD panel, which will augment the viewing experience on an already gorgeous large display. Also, Xiamoi may use an ultrasonic fingerprint sensor that will be embedded beneath the screen. Cantilever piezoelectric ceramic acoustic system that first featured on Mi Mix will also be used on Mi Mix 2 to replace the traditional earpiece. It seems Xiaomi is leaving no stone unturned to reduce the bezels size and phone's thickness.
Unsurprisingly, Mi Mix 2 will come with top of the line specifications like QualcommSnapdragon 835 and 6GB RAM. However, there is no news whether Mi Mix 2 will be sold in any international markets or not. We hope Xiaomi would make Mi Mix 2 available in atleast Asian markets like India, Malaysia, etc.
