This week Xiaomi introduced the Redmi Note 4X Hatsune Miku Special Edition smartphone, Asus launched the ZenFone 3s Max (ZC521TL) with a 5000mAh battery, HTC launched the 10 evo with Snapdragon 810 SoC and more that happened this week in our weekly roundup.
HTC launched the 10 evo smartphone in the ‘HTC 10’ series in India. It doesn’t have a 3.5mm audio jack instead it uses USB Type-C audio, comes with HTC BoomSound Adaptive Audio, which scans your ears and the ambient noise around you to adjust audio output to suit your personal hearing capabilities. It also has Hi-Res audio that delivers 24-bit audio. It also has a water resistant (IP57) body.
The HTC 10 evo comes in Cast Iron and Pearl Gold colors, is priced at Rs. 48,990 in India and is available from HTC estore.
Asus this week launched the ZenFone 3s Max (ZC521TL) with a 5000mAh battery that promises up to 3 days of battery life with normal use. It packs a 5.2-inch HD 2.5D curved glass display, Octa-Core MediaTek MT6750 processor, Android 7.0 (Nougat), 13-megapixel rear camera with dual-tone LED flash and a 8-megapixel front-facing camera.
It has a unibody metal design, VoLTE support and a fingerprint sensor on the front. It comes in Black and Gold colors, is priced at Rs. 14,999 and is available from offline as well as online retailers in India such as Flipkart and Amazon.in.
LG and Google this week introduced LG Watch Sport and LG Watch Style Android Wear smartwatches running Android Wear 2.0. Both these have Circlular P-OLED displays, have rotating power button lets you easily scroll through your stream, bring up the app launcher, or get help from your Google Assistant and are water resistant.
The LG Watch Style comes in silver, rose gold and titanium colors, is priced at $249 (Rs. 16,690 approx.) and the LG Watch Sport comes in titanium and dark blue colors and is priced at $349 (Rs. 23,390 approx.).
Intex this week launched Aqua Crystal and Aqua Supreme+ 4G smartphones with support for VoLTE and also officially launched the Aqua 4.0 with AMOLED display officially, which is the company’s cheapest 4G smartphone. The Aqua Crystal has a glass back, which is the main highlight of the smartphone. All the phones run Android 6.0 (Marshmallow).
The Aqua Crystal and Aqua Supreme+ come with a 5-inch HD IPS display and are powered by quad-core MediaTek MT6737 processors. The Aqua Supreme+ runs on Indus OS on top of Android Marshmallow that has regional keyboards upto 9 languages with matra and word prediction.
The Intex Aqua Crystal comes in Black and White colors and is priced at Rs. 6990 and the Intex Aqua Supreme+ comes in Black, White and Champagne colors and is priced at Rs. 9490. The Intex Aqua 4.0 comes in Black, Blue and Champagne Gold colors and is priced at Rs. 4199.
ZTE’s nubia brand this week launched the new Black with Gold version of N1 in the country that also gets 64GB of internal storage compared to 32GB of storage in the silver version. The phone packs a 5.5-inch 1080p display, is powered by an Octa-Core MediaTek Helio P10 processor and has a a 5000mAh battery.
The nubia N1 Black with Gold color with 64GB storage costs Rs. 12,499 and is available from Amazon.in.
Talking about the versions, OPPO launched Rose Gold Limited Edition of the selfie-focused F1s smatphone in the country just in time for Valentine’s Day. Apart from the color, other specifications are same as the original F1s including a 5.5-inch HD display, Octa-Core MediaTek MT6750 processor, Android 5.1 (Lollipop) OS with ColorOS 3.0 and a 3075mAh battery.
The OPPO F1s Rose Gold Limited Edition smartphone is priced at Rs. 18,990 and is available exclusively on Flipkart.
Lava launched 4G Connect M1, which is the first feature phone with VoLTE (Voice Over LTE) support in India. It is powered by a 1.2 GHz quad-core processor, has 512 MB RAM and comes pre-loaded with Facebook Lite and messaging applications. It has T9 keypad, D-pad and comes with dedicated keys to launch camera, browser, Wireless FM radio, Music player and torch.
It has polycarbonate body, Box speaker and K class amplifier that promises loud and clear sound. It has a VGA camera and supports 2G voice calling and EDGE support as well. It packs a 1750mAh battery .
The Lava 4G Connect M1 is priced at Rs. 3333 and will be available across retail stores and multi-brand outlets across India in a few weeks.
Lenovo announced the Yoga A12 convertible Android tablet with Halo keyboard. The tablet is sports a 12.2-inch HD display, measures 5.4mm thin and weighs less than a one kilogram. It has an aluminium and magnesium build.
It is powered by Intel Atom x5 processor with 2GB of RAM and 32GB of storage. It comes with two speakers with Dolby Atmos feature. The highlight of the Yoga A12 is the Halo keyboard whose keys light up and provide distinctive haptic feedback when tapped. The keyboard learns from you as you type, with built-in prediction and artificial learning software.
The Yoga A12 comes in Gunmetal Grey and Rose Gold variants. It will be available from February 8 starting at $299.
Gionee announced the F5 smartphone in the ‘F series’ has a 5.3-inch HD 2.5D curved glass screen, is powered by a 1.5GHz Octa-Core processor with 4GB of RAM and runs on Android 6.0 (Marshmallow). The phone has a unibody metal design, features a fingerprint sensor is on the front, below the display and packs a 4000mAh battery.
The Gionee F5 comes in Gold and Rose Gold colors and is priced at 1799 yuan (US$ 260 / Rs. 17,600 approx.).
Panasonic this week launched Lumix DMC-FZ2500, its latest mirrorless camera with support for 4K video recording , 1-inch 20.1 Megapixel sensor and bright 20X LEICA VARIO-ELMART F2.8-4.5 lens that offers 20x optical zoom. It is priced at Rs. 94,990 and is available across India.
Kingston launched DataTraveler 2000, secure USB 3.1 drive with alphanumeric keypad that locks the drive with a word or number combination, for easy-to-use PIN protection. It also features hardware-based, full-disk AES 256-bit data encryption in XTS mode. It is available through both, retail and online stores at an MRP of Rs. 10,000 for 16GB, Rs. 14,000 for 32GB and Rs. 18,000 for 64GB capacities, but you can get them at a cheaper rate on Amazon.in.
