The BEST Samsung Galaxy S7 Cases Money Can Buy

Latest Govt. Jobs 13:40:00 Reviews Edit

Dress your Samsung Galaxy S7 up in the best clothes money can buy with these AWESOME cases

The Samsung Galaxy S7 — and Galaxy S7 EDGE — launched at MWC 2016 at the start of the year and since then have gone on to DOMINATE the mobile space, racking up big sales and solid reviews across the board.
Millions of you went out and bought one. Way more than last year and this is great news for Samsung, as the company didn’t exactly have a great 2014/15. Interestingly, Apple has had a torrid time of it in 2016 with iPhone sales stalling for the first time ever.
Looks like Samsung picked the right year to up its game.
But now that you have a Galaxy S7, you’re probably already thinking about your next handset — 2017’s Galaxy X phone or perhaps the Galaxy Note 7, which launches in a few months.
In order to save yourself some money when buying a new phone it is a good idea to keep your existing phone in good nick, as this will allow you to resell it for a more dosh. And to ensure you do this you will need to invest in a case.
Below are our picks of some of the best Galaxy S7 cases on market right now.

Samsung Galaxy S7 Keyboard Cover - £49.99

Quite an unusual one, this - and one of the most expensive cases in this round up. The keyboard case is a two-part deal, with a plastic backing plate which clips onto the rear of your S7. This has a detachable keyboard section at the bottom which can be fitted over the lower section of the phone's screen, giving you Blackberry-style QWERTY input. Impressively, this case offers such functionality without the need for additional software or batteries - you just slot it on and the screen automatically readjusts to suit. While gesture-typing on touch screens has increased the speed of text input, there's something to be said for good, old-fashioned physical buttons, and if you miss the feel of actual keys under your fingers then this is certainly worth a look. The design and build quality is top-notch, and the only drawback is the fact that when the case is in place, you can't unlock the phone with the fingerprint scanner. Also, when the keyboard segment is on the back, it makes the whole package quite bulky.

Samsung Galaxy S7 VRS Design Dandy Layered Case - £19.99

Despite the rather excellent name this is essentially a leather flip case with a magnetic clasp. The two-tone effect looks great, and if you've got the gold S7 it compliments the colour perfectly. Like all leather cases, the thickness takes a bit of getting used to, and we were disappointed to see that there's no screen-off functionality when the case is closed. Still, for the price this is a premium case that adds a touch of class to an already remarkable handset.

Samsung Galaxy S7 Clear View Cover - £39.99

Another Samsung favourite, the Clear View Cover is a flip case which shields the screen from damage but doesn't totally cut if off from your sight - when the case is closed, the time and date are displayed underneath. It's a neat touch which means you don't have to open up the case to see those vital pieces of information, and it helps that the case is well-made and looks fantastic; the glossy plastic back panel provides protection and enhances the overall appearance of the phone. The previous model was criticized for scratching some S6 screens, but Samsung has changed the design a little so that the cover has a lip around the edge, meaning that it doesn't rest directly on the display.

Samsung Galaxy S7 Olixar Shield Case - £12.99

Made up of two sections - a soft rubber-like internal layer and a hard plastic outer section - the Shield case bulks up your phone but offers an impressive level of protection given the modest price. The design is something of an acquired taste, but this is one of the most solidly-built cases in this round-up. We especially liked the way the rubberised section covers the top and bottom edges of the phone, ensuring maximum bounceability should it plummet towards the cold, unfeeling earth. The buttons are easy to press, too.

Samsung Galaxy S7 LED View Cover - £49.99

Arguably one of the most fancy official cases you can get for the S7, the LED View Cover is stylistically similar to the Clear View Cover, but offers better protection. It's fashioned from a leather-effect material and at first glance appears to totally obscure the display, closing off vital details. However, a small LED panel inside the cover flashes up when the case is closed, showing the time. While the cover wraps around the left-hand side of the device, the volume buttons are still accessible - there's even a pair of symbols showing where to press. Inside, you'll find a slot where you can insert a credit card - something that might not be required in the near future, as Android Pay and Samsung Pay will both be offering contactless mobile payments in the UK soon.

Samsung Galaxy S7 Spigen Ultra Hybrid Case - £16.99

This transparent case covers the back and edges of the S7 but still grants access to ports and buttons. The edges are made from soft-touch TPU while the back panel is scratch-resistant hard plastic. Each corner has an air cushion which protects the phone in the event of an unexpected drop, and Spigen states that the case has passed "military grade" drop tests. This case isn't going to break the bank but it offers an incredible amount of protection and doesn't totally obscure the phone's lush design, making it one of the better options in this round up.

Samsung Galaxy S7 Mercury Goosprey iJelly Metal Case - £12.99

"Jelly" cases are incredible popular these days and the Goosprey range offers something a little different by mixing the protective properties of such cases with a metallic finish which - at first glance - looks like real metal. While the finish on this case could be better, it's thin, light and most importantly of all dependable should you accidentally drop your phone.

Samsung Galaxy S7 Clear Case - £24.99

Another official option, this time one which doesn't provide any protection on the front of the screen but instead focuses on covering that delicate glass back without bulking out the overall package. It's fashioned from solid plastic rather than TPU, and has metallic-look edges which give it a premium look - which is to be expected, given that it costs quite a lot when compared to other, non-official clip-on cases. Because there are cutaways on the edges all of the buttons and ports are easy to access, and the patterned transparent effect on the rear shows off the Galaxy S7's gorgeous design. There are cheaper alternatives if all you want is a clear case, but this is worth the additional cash as it fits perfectly and looks the part.

Samsung Galaxy S7 Olixar Flexishield Ultra-Thin Case - £5.99

The cheapest case in this selection, the Flexishield is more like a TPU skin which covers your phone to protect against scratches, but is unlikely to offer up much in the way of safety should you drop it. On the upside, it's cheap and incredibly thin - it adds very little to the size of the S7 and for many users, that will be a major selling point. If your prime concern is keeping your purchase in scratch-free condition then this is a worthy recommendation - just as long as you aren't too accident-prone.
