Sony resumes Android 7.0 Nougat update for Xperia Z5, Z3+ and Z4 Tablet

Sony commenced the rollout of the Nougat update for the Xperia Z5 family (Z5, Z5 Premium and Z5 Compact), Xperia Z3+ and the Xperia Z4 tablet in the third week of January, 2016. However, Sony halted it shortly after users started complaining of various bugs and performance issues plaguing the update.

Many users complained of audio-problems via third-party apps, performance issues, SD card encrypted data read performance issues and various other bugs.

As reported by Xperia Blog, the new firmware no. 32.3.A.0.372 fixes the issues found in the previous update. The rollout of the update has begun and should be reaching your devices very soon.

The latest iteration of AndroidAndroid 7.0 Nougat was released on August 22, 2016. The Nougat update brings with it many new features, bug fixes and noticeable improvements like new Quick Settings controls, an improved battery saver mode, security updates, 70 plus new Emoji and the most important feature, multi-window support.

Along with the regular Nougat features mentioned above, the update also brings with it certain Sony specific additions such as integration of Google Now integration in the Xperia launcher and new battery optimisation settings.

As the rollout is region specific, it may take some time for the OTA update to land on your smartphones. If you don’t want to wait, you can update your device from the Xperia Companion App on your Mac/PC.

If your Xperia is a carrier locked device, you may face further delays as the update gets approval from your respective carrier.
