Sony announces Xperia XA1, XA1 Ultra with slim bezels, updated cameras

While the Xperia XZ Premium was the star of the show at Sony's MWC event, the company also unveiled updated versions of last year's Xperia XA and XA Ultra.
Dubbed the Xperia XA1 and XA1 Ultra, the smartphones come with extremely thin side bezels and a major update to their optics.

Xperia XA 1 Ultra

Just like its predecessor, the XA1 Ultra's 16MP front camera comes with optical image stabilisation and a dedicated LED flash. The camera has an aperture of f/2.0 and a 1/2.6" sensor. On the rear, there is a 23MP rear camera with an aperture of f/2.0, SteadyShot and a 1/2.3" sensor.
Other specifications of the smartphone include a 6' 1080p display, a MediaTek Helio P20 processor (As compared to its predecessors P10), a rather small 2,700mAh battery, Android 7.0 Nougat out of the box and USB Type C for charging and data transfer.
The XA1 Ultra will be available in White, Black, Pink and Gold and will be released in the summer. 

Xperia XA1

The XA1 comes with a 5-inch "borderless edge to edge screen", a MediaTek Helio P20 processor, 3GB of RAM, microUSB for charging and data transfer and a paltry 2,300mAh battery.
On the imaging front, the XA1 Ultra comes with a 23MP 1/2.3" sensor with an aperture of f/2.0m. hybrid autofocus and SteadyShot. On the front, there is a 8MP camera with SteadyShot for selfies.
The rear camera, along with the better processor and increase in RAM are the biggest updates in comparison to its predecessor.
The Xperia XA1 will come out early summer and will be available in White, Black, Gold and Pink.
Sony has completely refreshed their X lineup with the Xperia XZ Premium, Xperia XZs, the Xperia XA1 and the XA1 Ultra. The only device which did not see an update was the Xperia 
We will have to wait and see until they hit the markets in a few months if these smartphones are capable of turning Sony's mobile division's fortunes around or will they be given a cold shoulder from the public.
