Meizu M5s launch scheduled for February 15

The Meizu M5s finally has a launch date with the company scheduling its arrival for the 15th of February at a dedicated event in China. The timing of the event is quite interesting as Xiaomi is expected to unveil the Redmi Note 4X just a day before. However, both phones belong to different market segments, so they’re not exactly competing with each other.

It is said that the smartphone will bear close resemblance to the M3s in terms of design, while bearing a relatively slim exterior. The company’s teaser also talks about the presence of fast charging tech, which is a prerequisite for a modern day smartphone. It is yet to be seen if the handset will go easy on the wallets or end up being an expensive affair. Initial reports suggested that the handset will be priced at 999 CNY (Rs 9,800 approx), so it should prove to be a very exciting handset in budget segment.

A lot has been talked about the Meizu M5s over the past few weeks, especially on Chinese social media. Given that Meizu has a decent presence in India as well, we expect the smartphone to make its way to the region fairly soon.
