Latest Honor launches Honor 8 Lite and announces Honor V9 in China

While Huawei is preparing for the P10 launch at MWC 2017, the company’s sub brand Honor has introduced Honor 8 Lite, along with another smartphone V9 in China. Honor 8 Lite smartphone was launched in Finland earlier this month, and is now unveiled in the Chinese market with Honor V9. Both the phones are set to hit Chinese market by February 28th. 

Honor V9 price and specifications


Honor V9 runs on Android 7.0 (Nougat) with EMUI 5.0. The phone sports a 5.7-inch (2560x1440 pixels) Quad HD 2.5D curved glass display. It has an octa-core Huawei Kirin 960 processor with Mali G71 Octa-Core GPU stacked along with 4GB/ 6GB RAM. There are two storage options – 64 GB and 128 GB, expandable up to 128GB with Micro SD. 

The smartphone boasts of a 12MP rear cameras with dual-tone LED flash, Laser AF, f/2.2 aperture, and 8MP front-facing camera with f/2.0 aperture. 

On the connectivity front, it has Hybrid Dual SIM (nano + nano/micro SD) mode. While other options include 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi a/b/g/n/ac (2.4GHz and 5GHz), Bluetooth 4.2, GPS, NFC, USB 2.0 Type-C. The phone also has a fingerprint sensor, along with an infrared sensor. It has a 3000mAh battery to power up the device. 

The Honor V9 comes in Midnight black, Flame Red, Platinum Gold and Aurora blue colors and is priced at 2599 yuan (Rs. 25,280 approx.) for the 4GB RAM with 64GB storage version. 

The 6GB RAM with 64GB storage version is for 2999 yuan (Rs. 29,170 approx.) and the top-end 6GB RAM with 128GB storage version costs 3499 yuan (US$ 508 / Rs. 34,035 approx.). 

It is now available for order in China and will go on sale from February 28th.

It has an octa-core Kirin 655 (4x2.1GHz +4x1.7Ghz) 16nm processor with Mali T830-Mp2 GPU stacked along with 3GB/ 4GB RAM. There are two storage variants available – 32 GB and 64GB, expandable up to 128GB with Micro SD. 

The smartphone has a 12MP rear camera with LED flash, PDAF, 1.25um pixel size and 8MP front-facing camera. 

On the connectivity front, it comes with Hybrid Dual SIM (nano + nano/micro SD) mode. While other options include 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.1, GPS. The phone also has a fingerprint sensor, and comes with a 3,000mAh battery. 

The Honor 8 Lite comes in Gold, Blue, Black and White colors and is priced at 1099 yuan (Rs. 10,690 approx.) for the 3GB RAM with 32GB storage version. 

For the 4GB RAM with 32GB storage version it is priced at 1399 yuan (Rs. 13,600 approx.) while the top-end 4GB RAM with 64GB storage version costs 1599 yuan (US$ 232/ Rs. 15,550 approx.). 

It is available for order in China and goes on sale from February 28.
