Apple Teases Night, Theater Modes for Mac, Apple Watch

Apple Watch Series 2
Want to watch movies on your Apple Watch? We don't either, so the watch's upcoming theater mode, which Apple hinted at in a developer guide this week, seems puzzling until you realize that it's intended to minimize disruptions in a dark theater, rather than turn the watch into a theater.
The theater mode, which arrives with the watchOS 3.2 software update, will let Apple Watch$369.00 at Apple wearers mute the sound and prevent the screen from activating when they raise their wrists. The mode doesn't prevent incoming notifications, through, which you can feel through haptic feedback or check by tapping the screen or pressing the digital crown.

Apple has not announced a watchOS 3.2 launch date; the watchOS 3.1.3 update went live on Monday.
Meanwhile, Apple is also directing some attention to the screens of its Mac desktops and notebooks, which will soon receive the same Night Shift modethat is currently available on iOS devices. Night shift will roll out in macOS Sierra 10.12.4, which is currently in beta testing, according to MacRumors.
Night Shift is designed to minimize the amount of blue light that a screen emits late at night, when you might be using your iPhone or iPad in bed. Recent research has shown that blue light inhibits the body's production of melatonin, a hormone that helps people fall asleep, although scientists note that it's not a panacea for sleep problems.
Microsoft began testing a similar blue light reduction feature for Windows 10 last fall, and third-party apps like F.lux offer similar capabilities.
