The Chromebook family of devices continues to grow. Today the British Education and Training Technology (BETT) Show being held in London have introduced two new devices specifically designed for educational needs: the Acer Chromebook Spin 11 and the Asus Chromebook C213, which are expected to arrive at the end of this spring.
The Acer Chromebook Spin 11 features an 11-inch touch screen mounted on a double 360 ° hinge that allows up to four modes of use: store mode, tablet mode, display mode and portable mode.
In addition, there will be variants of this Chromebook with Intel Celeron, Intel dual core and Intel quad-core. The model can reach up to 8 GB of RAM and up to 64 GB of flash storage. The high-strength chassis, the availability of a Wacom® EMR stylus, a 5-megapixel camera built into the keyboard, and even two Type C USB ports make up the core specifications of Acer’s new Chromebook solution.
At the moment the specific features of the new ASUS Chromebook solution are still unknown, but in any case, according to Google, the new solutions have a stylus, camera integrated in the keyboard for when you reverse a Chromebook the same look outward as the Tablets, and even USB Type-C connectors.
In addition to the two new Chrooebooks, on the part of Adobe has also introduced a number of specific Android applications for Chrome OS, the specific operating system of Chromebooks. These apps are Photoshop Mix, Lightroom Mobile, Illustrator Draw, Photoshop Sketch, Adobe Comp CC and Creative Cloud Mobile, which will be available for free download.
In this regard, it should be noted that all Chromebooks launched this year will be compatible with Android applications, so users of these devices will have at their disposal thousands of possible applications that can install on them.
Given that Chromebooks are the preferred devices for the education sector, being used today by more than 20 million teachers and students, it is not surprising that Google wants to continue to enhance the advantages of these devices.
