NEW DELHI: Following the footsteps of Microsoft Xbox, Sony has launched two new licensed 'pro controllers' for its PlayStation 4 gaming console. Referred to as 'Razer Raiju' and 'Nacon Revolution,' the controllers will be available in Europe this year.
As their names suggest, the two officially licensed PS4 controllers have been made by Razer and Nacon.
"Through close collaboration we've been able to help optimize each controller for PS4 - incorporating innovative Dualshock 4 controls and ensuring gamers can enjoy a Plug & Play experience with any model of PS4," said Sony in an official PS4 blogpost.
Each controller is said to offer a different layout and set of features. Razer's Raiju is designed for professional eSports tournament games. It includes two extra bumpers and two additional detachable triggers as compared to the existing DualShock 4 controller. There's also a built-in control panel on the front of the controller, as well as trigger-stop switches and a hair trigger mode for better response.
The Razer Raiju is also claimed to sport multiple custom profiles which gamers can easily switch between and modify. In addition, it has a 3.5mm headphone jack and dedicated volume/mic mute controls. The controller is compatible with all PS4 systems and features a 3m long braided USB cable.
As for the Nacon Revolution, it has 46-degree amplitude dual analogue sticks with new firmware for improved eSports accuracy. Besides four extra shortcut buttons, the controller has an eight-way directional pad and support for up to four custom profiles. These profiles can be customized via the companion PC application, which allows everything from remapping of buttons to adjusting trigger sensitivity.
There are also two internal compartments with six additional weights to keep a balanced weight. A 3m long USB cable is also included.
